Overview
The VA Epilepsy Centers of Excellence (ECoE) is committed to improving the care, health, and well-being of veterans with seizure disorders. The organization is a network of 16 sites that provide evaluation and expertise with partners including physicians, nurses, therapists, pharmacists, and other professionals. The ECoE helps with care, outreach, research, and education as it relates to veterans with epilepsy.
Description
The ECoE website features various educational resources and tools for veterans with epilepsy to learn more about the condition and find proper care. There are helpful videos that explain the condition specifically as it relates to veterans and specific videos about medications, first aid, diagnosis, and many other topics. There are also self-management guides and handbooks to help veterans with epilepsy learn more about living with the condition.
Videos
One of the most helpful parts of the ECoE website is the vast amount of educational videos about specific epilepsy topics. The videos are well produced and feature firsthand stories from veterans with epilepsy that can provide context and tips for living a better life. All of the videos are on a YouTube channel so users can click around and find additional information.
Handbooks and Guides
In addition to the videos and written material on the website, there are handbooks and guides available for users to download about self-management, diagnosis, and more. Veterans can even request a copy of the booklet that the VA produced for patients via email.
